The Kappa Tetarton
Alumni Association, Inc.
Brothers
of Kappa Tet,
I
would like to thank you for your continued support for our
Association. I
especially want to thank our donors and dues paying members
for their generosity. The
Kappa Tetarton chapter is moving forward in their quest to
make the Phi Sig chapter at SIU the best in the nation.
As alumni, you play an integral role in helping the
chapter to thrive. Your
association continues to provide the necessary assistance and
guidance that ensures the growth of our chapter.
Thus, it is with great anticipation that I invite you
to attend the upcoming 2004 association activities.
We
are hosting our second annual summer meet for undergraduates,
alumni and their families on June 5, 2004 at 11:00, at Jaycee
Grove in Tinley Park, Illinois.
Jaycee Grove is one of the most popular picnic spots in
Tinley Park, boasting a spacious picnic shelter, horseshoe
pits, miniature golf course, batting cages, and plenty of open
spaces. In
addition, we will order a catered lunch again this year.
Keep an eye out for an invitation and more information
for this event as summer draws near.
The
SIU Homecoming is October 2, 2004.
The association has reserved thirteen cabins and the
banquet hall at the Giant City Lodge for Homecoming weekend.
The banquet will feature the lodge’s acclaimed fried
chicken family style dinner and a full service cash bar.
The association has paid a deposit to reserve the
following cabins:
-
Five
“Historic” cabins at $60 per night includes one
room with two full beds; and
-
eight
“Prairie” cabins at $70 per
night includes one queen bed, one full sized pullout in
the living room and a small refrigerator.
All rooms have a full bath,
phone and a TV. Rates based on single or double
occupancy with $5 per additional person.
Many
of the local Carbondale hotels are already booked solid. If you would like to reserve a cabin at the lodge, please
contact us at kappatet@yahoo.com. We
have already paid for the first nights rental for all of the
rooms. If you wish to stay at a cabin, you will need to
send Pat Fornes a $60 or $70 check, depending on the type of
room you would like. This check will reimburse the association
for one nights rental. You are responsible for paying the
lodge for any additional nights. When making
your request, tell us which type of cabin you would prefer.
A Deposit for the “Historic” cabin is $60, and a
deposit for the “Prairie” cabin is $70.
We request that you contact us to reserve a cabin as
soon as possible.
The
address to send payment is:

On
a final note, we would like to thank our members who have
already paid their 2004 Association dues.
In order to continue to sponsor events, such as those
above, we encourage each of you to become dues paying members
of the Association. Dues
are just $25 a year and we are always grateful for any
additional donation you choose to give.
Thank
you, and Damn Proud!
